This table was created to resemble a screen; however, be a functional piece of furniture. Although difficult to tell from the pictures, the two end pieces are the same size as the middle section, which were sawed in half and placed at 35 degree angle so the width of the table would accommodate a 20” piece of glass. The wood used in this fabulous piece is Wenge for the frame, base and top, with Narra slats.
The top and base portions are 4” wide boards and placed over/under the panels. These pictures show an interesting representation of the table, but it’s really great looking in person!
Size – Approximately 42” tall. Glass is 20” wide by 52” long.
Price – $3,100
This beautiful bar height table would be outstanding in a kitchen or bar area, or look great in a restaurant. It is constructed with Wenge, Ambrosia Maple, as well as a patterned leather inserted into the top portion. These particular pieces of Ambrosia Maple have a marble looking affect.

Price – $2,300

Beautiful, unique, eye-catching screen…the Zebrawood slatted panels are the main focal point, with intricate detailed Indian print panels across the top. The lower fabric ties in the Padauk inlay embedded in the slatted panel and horizontally within the cross-bars. Finished as two separate pieces for versatility (right/left sections); sections could be joined to create a 4 panel screen, if desired.
2 Sections; 4 Panels – Center Panel – 72″ht x 14″ wd; Left/Right Panel – 69″ ht x 14″ wd; Total Width – 56″

The Mahogany top cross-bars incorporate a unique design to include curved pieces joining to the Wenge arched center piece with a Maple inlay. All other cross-bars include the Wenge center section. The fabrics enhance the wood selections: dark shades in the Wenge embrace the grayish color of the silk brocade; the peach silk douppioni color enhances the richness of the Mahogany; the light stitching on the silk brocade compliments the Curly Maple side panels and middle section slats.

This beautiful screen would be gorgeous in any home, business, or restaurant. The top and cross-bars are made with Wenge; the vertical bars are Cherry with Padauk and/or Wenge inlay. The middle sections are Cherry boards cut into ¼” slats and glued into the cross-bar. Cherry was also used as a decorative insert on the ends of each cross-bar. Mortise and tenon type joinery was used to connect the cross-bars with the corresponding vertical bar. The top panel of fabric is a Chinese silk print, with an organza underlining for stability; the lower fabric is silk douppioni. Fabrics are attached to a 3/16″ dowel and glued into a ¼” groove. Double leather strips with brass nails join the three panels at the lower cross-bars. The frame is finished with a clear coat of Shellac and several coats of a clear oil/urethane semi-gloss finish.
This screen was entered in the Texas Furniture Makers Show, Kerrville, Tx - and won the ‘Best Apprentice’ award at the show!
